Membership Guidelines
The executive
board shall have the authority to review all applications for membership
and make a final determination that the applicant is believed to
be beneficial to the best interest and objectives of the association.
The board shall not discriminate against any applicant with regard
to creed, religion, race, color, sex, marital status, sexual orientation,
political ideology, ancestry, national origin, or the presence of
any physical handicap. The executive board may deny any membership
that is deemed not to be in the associations best interest
Membership
Rules Established by the Executive Board
Persons who can join:
Any full time law enforcement personnel sworn and non-sworn.
Any federal, state, local government employees.
All insurance company investigators/ personnel from a publicly traded
corporation.
Any loss prevention personnel from a publicly traded corporation.
Persons who work for nonprofit companies such as NICB approved by
the board.
Persons who work for profit companies and do not sell products/services
to law enforcement such as National Equipment Register and LoJack.
If a publicly traded corporate loss prevention company hires a private
security company to investigate loss prevention investigations for
their company then those members of the private security company
may be considered for membership.
Persons who cannot join:
Bounty hunters
Private detective agencies
Private detectives
No person who works for a company that sells products/services to
the law enforcement community regardless if they are retired law
enforcement.
No
person who is involved with the transaction of secondhand goods.
