2003 National Superior Service and Devotion to Duty Award

Sergeant Matthew Farrell

Columbus Division of Police, Ohio

Sgt. Farrell joined the Columbus police Department in July 1980. He has worked in patrol and Narcotics Bureau until he was promoted to Sergeant in 1990. Matt's current assignment is in the Crimes Against Property section. Matt is a true leader who does an excellent job at keeping the morale of his troops high. He is always willing to try new approaches to reduce property crime. He recently proposed a Burglary STRIKE Team that targets know offenders.
